From San Fran to Uganda, folks are fighting the good fight!

Hey Folks! As a Philly cyclist, this warms the cockles of my heart: San Fran Supervisor Bevan Duffy is honoring an organization of HIV-positive bicyclists. San Fran does an annual weeklong AIDS/LifeCycle fundraiser, a seven-day ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles. In the dead of this rainy dreary Philly January, one can only think that this would be a gorgeous ride, made extra special by raising awareness for AIDS and HIV prevention.

And on the international stage, Uganda is hosting a huge East African Consortium for Clinical Research (EACCR) that will conduct trials for HIV/Aids, tuberculosis and malaria.
From the article:
“The aim of the consortium is to bring together different institutions that have different strengths in clinical trials for HIV, tuberculosis and malaria. We hope that we can increase human capacity and infrastructure through collaboration and networking. It will also raise the quality of clinical research and practice in sub-Saharan Africa,” Dr. Kaleebu said at the launch of the network on Thursday. -- Go get 'em, Dr. Kaleebu!
