Online Video Hoax Revealed!

A woman in Detroit was arrested after posting a video online that claimed she has infected more than 500 people in the area with .

The woman has been identified as 23 year-old Jackie Braxton. After her arrest, she voluntarily took an HIV / AIDS test, which came back negative. She has since been released from custody.

In the video, Braxton appeared disguised with a bandanna covering her mouth and nose. She said that she was infected with the disease in 1998 and had been upset about having to “suffer”. She also said that she was going to spread the disease in an attempt to “destroy the world”.

“We don’t see anything at this point under state law that would allow us to press charges, but we are researching,” said John Roach, spokesperson for the Detroit Police Department.

Braxton told the Detroit News that she did not have AIDS or HIV and that the video was meant to help. “I made the tape because I wanted to raise awareness about AIDS,” she told the paper.

The video, which was released on Friday, cearly caused concern in Detroit. The number of walk-in HIV tests in Detroit more than doubled that day.
